Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko competes as a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thailand fighter in the flyweight division. She is also the older sister of an earlier UFC Flyweight champion as well as the fellow UFC fighter Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko was the first to start combat sports in the form of a Muay Thai Kickboxer. Shevchenko made her debut in her first IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals with a unanimous vote. Antonina was able to follow it up, with a silver-medal in 2007, a bronze award in 2008 and a gold award in 2011, and was the 2015 IFMA Amateur Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia started her professional journey back in 2003. She has taken home numerous awards, such as the World WKC K-1 Light Welterweight Championships the Lion Fight Lightweight Championships and WMC as well as Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina was most recently seen battling Isa TIDBLAD Keskikangas at the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won unanimously. Antonina Shychenko's first professional MMA debut was in 2002 at the KFK Championship in Kyrgystan where she was matched against Anara Bayanova. She won this fight by TKO after round 2 and the following two matches were staged at the WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko took a short time off from MMA and devoted her time to kickboxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 with Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko won Anissa Haddaoui in a unanimous decision. She later defeated Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4, in a unanimous decision. She left the club and began Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko beat Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina demonstrated her striking prowess by TKOing Nievera by knees. Antonina was offered a UFC invitation following her win. Antonina Shevchenko debuted in UFC in the TUF Finals TUF Heavy Hitting against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko won the unanimous victory, however she was defeated in her next fight by Roxanne Modafferi via a split decision. Antonina rebounded from her loss to beat Lucie Pudilova via rear-naked choking submission in the second round at UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned the bonus fight of the night for this fight. Shevchenko was victorious in her initial three bouts, but lost them to Katlyn Cahookagian Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski.
